Behind The Curtain will offer up some unique programming for those working in L&D, corporate and funded training.

Produced by Ingredient Films in conjunction with Bolt Jobs, each show will focus on an in-depth interview but with a light touch.

We’re all about people and their stories and think there’s a lot we can all learn by just sitting back and listening.

Over the course of seven years working closely with the L&D teams at numerous organisations, I’ve been fascinated by the diverse range of projects and approaches each employs.  For me it’s always been frustrating that most of the big projects we’ve been part of haven’t really been shouted about outside of our client’s ‘four walls’ and I know this is a frustration shared by many within L&D.

With my background in broadcasting and experience in interviewing well over 1,000 people in my career to date, I fancied having a crack at launching a podcast focusing on something I’m passionate about, while hopefully appealing to an audience that want to learn more about their contemporaries and take lessons from their experience.  My commitment is to create a strand of programming that keeps things simple and engaging, allowing for some leaders in L&D to share their story, their vision and leadership lessons.

As co-host, Alex Lockey, who’s tapped into his vast network supplying us with SMEs and on-screen talent for last seven years, was the obvious choice.  The only thing we still need to work out is who’s Batman and who’s Robin.

Having worked within the education and training sector throughout my career, I’m keen to highlight the great work being done in the sector, often by an unsung hero powering organisations.

I have a huge interest in podcasts and feel it's only right to use my network and reach to help raise awareness and ultimately L&D standards. And my vision is the same as Nathan's in that I want our programming to feel relaxed and 'not corporate', focusing on people and their stories, learning from their journeys and their experiences.

With a background in recruitment and talent acquisition, I’m also an experienced interviewer and communicator so you’ll be in safe hands between us.

I met Nathan when Ingredient Films engaged us to find expert curriculum writers for video learning content. We struck up an immediate friendship and haven’t looked back. We now work together at Ingredient Films and it was a natural extension to this relationship, and our shared values on learning and development, that make him the perfect co-host for this video podcast...though I'm definitely Batman!
